Before I begin I have sighted in may rifles & crossbows and never had a problem , I do know the basics
I ran across a problem I never saw before so here goes...
I have a horton crossbow & scope I bought used, today I tried to shoot and it was hitting high
the scope = horton crossbow scope model ss047
I tried to adjust the elevation knob and it started to bring the shots down but I think i over loosened the know because its no longer "counter sunk" in the scope
Let me explain, the knob was a good 1/4 inch inside the scope and tight, now it appears to be pushed out to the edge of the cavity as its no longer seated or something, also i can push it with my finger and it goes down the whole 1/4 inch and moves the crosshairs with it
Im now shooting 24" high! and I cant adjust it at all, i turn it but no adjustment is made
I quit trying as my bolts are now missing the targets and bending on impact with in the woodpile
is it possible to over loosen the elevation knob?
i hope i can fix this
I tried to push it down inside the scope and tighten it but it does not work
someone please tell me its an easy fix!
